Instead of using a belt to transfer power to the platter, the motor drives the platter directly, helping to maintain highly consistent rotational speed while providing excellent long-term reliability.

The motor works together with the heavyweight platter and rigid construction to provide smooth, stable rotation with extremely low wow and flutter. Precision S-Shaped Aluminium Tonearm

The static-balanced S-shaped aluminium tonearm has been engineered to track the record groove with stability and precision. Its carefully controlled effective mass and rigid construction provide an excellent mechanical foundation for the supplied Ortofon cartridge, helping it extract fine musical detail while maintaining accurate tracking across the record. 

A detachable SME-style headshell connection also provides additional flexibility, making cartridge changes and future upgrades considerably easier. 

ATS Technology for Greater Clarity

Argon Audio’s patented ATS (Anisotropic Torsion Stabilizer) technology is designed to reduce unwanted torsional resonance in the tonearm. By controlling these unwanted movements, the stylus can follow the groove with greater stability and accuracy. 

The benefit is not technology for technology’s sake: reducing unwanted resonance allows subtle musical information to emerge more clearly, contributing to a cleaner, more open and more precisely focused presentation. 

A Solid Foundation for Your Records

Excellent vinyl reproduction begins with controlling unwanted vibration. AURORA therefore combines a rigid MDF plinth with a substantial 1.4 kg aluminium platter featuring rubber damping. Together they create a stable, low-resonance platform that allows the cartridge to concentrate on the information contained in the record groove rather than vibrations generated by the turntable itself. 

Special vibration-damping feet provide further isolation from the surface underneath the turntable and from vibrations within the listening room. The result is greater clarity, improved stability and a more precisely defined musical presentation. 

Built-In Phono Preamp for Easy System Integration

AURORA includes a high-quality built-in MM phono preamplifier, allowing it to connect directly to an amplifier or pair of active speakers with a standard line-level input. This makes it possible to build a beautifully simple vinyl system without requiring a separate phono preamplifier. 

The internal phono stage can also be switched off when AURORA is connected to a dedicated phono input or an external phono preamplifier, giving more experienced listeners complete freedom to develop and upgrade their system over time.

Support for 33, 45 and 78 RPM gives AURORA the flexibility to play an exceptionally wide range of records. For 78 RPM records, a suitable cartridge or stylus is required.
